Speaking the Language of Bingo
Bingo is a very popular gambling game, no doubt in that. However, it would surprise you to know that there are a lot of players of this gambling game who are not familiar with the words associated with this gambling game.
It seems the bingo lingo is very trivial, but if you are planning to be a serious gambling player, it would be necessary for you to master some terms that you can use in some of your session. If you decide that you want to make a career out of this gambling game, knowledge of the bingo lingo can put you ahead of others.
Some of the terms used in bingo are bonanza bingo, buy-in, caller, consolations, and coverall. These are rather simple bingo terms, so it would be very easy to explain them to you.
Bonanza Bingo - bonanza bingo is one of the most exciting variations of bingo. A gambling player needs to be very lucky to win in this game. This is how it goes: fifty numbers are drawn before the game starts. These numbers are then shown to the gambling players by means of the bingo board. Then, the gambling player who achieves a blackout out of these fifty numbers wins the game. It seems easy, but not really. A bingo card consists of twenty four numbers, which means, a gambling player has to match half of the pre-drawn numbers to win.
Buy-in - you may remember that another gambling game, which is poker, also uses buy-in. The buy-in is the price the gambling player pays to be able to join a bingo session. The other term for buy-in in bingo is admission. Usually, a buy-in entitles a gambling player five cards. If that player wants to buy more, he can do so, even in between the session.
Caller - in home bingo, the caller could be your aunt or your brother, who is also playing the game. But in bigger events, callers cannot play with the gambling players. They are the hired personnel who draw and call the bingo numbers for everyone to hear.
Consolations - if nobody wins in a bingo game, consolation prizes are given to some gambling players. This rarely happens, so you can say that the game is very unlucky.
Coverall - this is called as such because you need to cover all the numbers with marks, which means you need to match all the numbers in your card with the ones being called. Another more popular term for this is the blackout.
